Investigators is our preschool and children join this room when they are ready - at roughly three years old - and stay here until they start school. Based in the lovely old building our Investigators have a series of exciting spaces to explore. Investigators comprises of one big room for role play and loose parts play which has free flow to their own garden, a little art studio and two smaller cosy rooms for stories, small world play and more ‘school’ style skills such as writing. Being three or four years old is a magical age and the pace of learning and knowledge accumulation is visible almost daily.
Our Approach
Creating stimulating and exciting learning opportunities which mean children leap in to nursery with excitement every day is at the centre of the remit for our Investigators. Every child has a key person who is carefully observing them, tracking their development and teaching them new skills along the way. Children learn to be fully independent in terms of daily routines and skills while in Investigators so that when they leave they are well equipped to look after themselves at school. We also start to see the gentle introduction of ways of learning that will also feel familiar at school such as circle time and show and tell.
