Our Vision

At The Children’s Room our vision is to enable every child to fulfil their greatest potential.

We do this by developing our educational approach based on a deep understanding of brain development in the vital first 5 years of life.

We combine this with a culture of kindness for children, families and the invaluable team who work in our nursery.

“My son has been at The Children’s Room Day Nursery Wendover for two years and he absolutely adores it…The staff are caring, accommodating and I trust them completely. The children are always coming home with artwork, baking and plants that they have grown. The Children’s Room Day Nursery Wendover also offers a huge amount of outside playtime which I consider very beneficial.”

Our Values

We have established a strong value system. We aim to reflect this in how we live and work and in the characteristics we hope to cultivate in the children in our care.

We have six core values:

Kindness: the ability to listen, support and care for each other

Inquisitive-ness: the ability to ask questions and explore

Resilience: the ability to manage when life is challenging

Connection: the ability to connect to people and place

Innovation: the ability to think in a new ways

Independence: the ability to think for yourself and look after yourself

The Curriculum

Our curriculum is in line with the new EYFS Framework and is based on the seven areas of learning.

The three prime areas: social and emotional development, physical development and communication and language.

As well as the four secondary areas: mathematics, literacy, understanding the world and expressive arts and design.

We then draw on the methodology that we believe best supports children’s learning. This includes a focus on:

Child-led learning

High quality interactions and shared thinking

Careful listening and observation
